Fix the Self Limiting Beliefs

April 26, 2012

“You are a female.” “You are a male.”  “You are too short.”  “You are too tall.”   “My grades weren’t good in school.” “I came from a family that didn’t have money.”

“They won’t promote me.” “I can’t…”  “I never have….” “My teacher said…”  “The coach said…”

Most of us have something in our conscious mind that limits our success. We have been told we can’t do something. Someone said or did something that led us to believe we were not capable of _______. You fill in the blank here. The sources of our beliefs range from family to teachers, from peers to your boss, from A to Z. So start by identifying your real or imagined limits. And they are all imagined. You know what they are. Make a list now. Write them down. Then we can begin changing them. Evaluate why they are on the list. Make the commitment to change and to rid yourself of the belief that is holding you back.

The Law of Attraction–Alive and Working

April 8, 2012

There are frequent reminders of the Law of Attraction in any daily routine. Fortunately there are numerous positive reminders. Events that prove the Law again and again. But, there are the negatively oriented reminders too. I play golf and hear fellow players bemoan the hole that always gives them trouble; or the business person who tells me sales are always slow in August; or the business owner’s constant problem of not being able to find a good salesman/assistant/whatever.

When we believe and state that we cannot do this or that, it is the truth. It will happen in the exact manner of our belief. You will miss that putt, you will have lousy sales in August and the elusive employee will not appear. On the other hand, as we learn and believe that thoughts are things, then we learn to change our verbal and mental programming. It’s easy to do. In so doing we experience the lesson that what the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve. Simple words, simple concepts. Sometimes however they are the most difficult for us to grasp and implement.

Here is how the Law of Attraction works. You are literally a magnet that attracts into your life the people, events, situations and circumstances that are in keeping with your dominant thoughts. You have probably experienced this in your life already and just didn’t know it. Have you ever thought about someone and then get a phone call, email or see something posted on Facebook? You know those ‘coincidences.’ It happened to me last night. I was about to email my college roommate when his email appeared with a message to me. Don’t be the one who puts those things off to coincidence.

The law explains success and failure in your business and personal life. It has been studied and written about going back 3,000 years before Christ. It influences everything you say and do, how you feel, your thoughts. You have attracted everything into your life due to your thoughts. That can be scary or it can propel you to success. I recommend the latter.

Change your thought patterns and processes and you can absolutely change your life. The following is part of an email I received from a client. It dramatically demonstrates how we can make changes in what we believe, in what we say and in how we act. And in so doing we begin to achieve everything we want.

“March has finished almost off the charts – only one month last year was better.  Our best month last year we hit $63K in total $ sales when we printed for (customer name).

You had us write down a goal a few weeks ago and I just found it.  We wrote $35,000, but when I just looked back at last year we had $40K last March so I was not setting the bar high enough.

This year (2012) March:  total dollar sales $60K.

We had a lot of big orders this week that have not been paid for yet, but by the end of next week my stress level will be well below my motivation level.   Which is an affirmation I am going to add to my list.   We usually do not catch up entirely with bills until end of July or August, but it will be much sooner this year. Plus we are going to sell out of (brand name) t-shirts this weekend, but I will let those count in April’s figures.

Feel free to use us as an example in your next book.  Thank you for all your encouragement and faith in us!”

This client had originally told me that January through March were dead months for sales. Barely made ends meet. They achieved their dramatic increase in sales by making changes in their focus, different marketing activities, use of affirmations, setting goals and planning. You can do the same thing in all facets of your life. This isn’t fairy dust.

Now if you will allow me here is a segment from my book:

“Marcus Aurelius wrote: “A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it.”

Earl Nightingale’s theory is: “You become what you think about most of the time.”

Napoleon Hill summed it up when he said: “Anything the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

The  Bible stipulates: “As a man thinks, so is he.”

So, let’s see, these ‘soft’ approaches to thinking and living have been quoted around in various forms for over 2,000 years. Do you think there might be something to their messages?”

Here’s what you can do:

  • Get your pad and pen and start a self-analysis. Look at everything and everyone around you. If it’s not what you want and not where you want to be, then what do you think you should do? Yep, get moving.
  • Describe your ideal world. People to be around, job to have, place to live, the list goes on and on.
  • Now, what do you have to do to attract those things? What you have been isn’t working. So make the list of what you need to be and do so you can have.
  • Start with education. Read, listen, go to seminars.
  • Take Action. The book The Secret is all about The Law of Attraction. But it leaves out one very important step. Take Action, get moving, do something, make it happen.
  • If you are surrounded by people and things you don’t like, change it.
  • Write your goals for the next 10 years in 1,3,5 and 10 year increments. Get busy deciding what you have to do to achieve them.
  • There is no pixie dust in this, no magic bullet. And it’s easy to do. There is no limit to what you can think and no limit to what you can attract into your life. Ok, it’s your move. Are you going to make the change? I hope so.

The list above is also from my book. I  guess it’s ok to quote myself liberally. Breakthroughs for Success.

Law of Attraction: How to have everything you want

April 2, 2012

The following is excerpted from Brian Tracy’s “100 Absolutely Unbreakable Laws of Business Success.”

The Law of Attraction: You are a living magnet; you invariably attract into your life the people, situations and circumstances that are in harmony with your dominant thoughts.

This is one of the great laws that explains much of success and failure in business and personal life. It has been written about as far back as the ancient Egyptian mystery schools, 3000 years before Christ. It is so powerful, pervasive and all encompassing that it affects everything you do or say, or even think or feel.

Everything you have in your life, you have attracted to yourself because of the way you think, because of the person you are. You can change your life because you can change the way you think. You can change the person you are. Your thoughts are extremely powerful.

Whenever things are not going well in any organization, the fastest way to bring about change is to bring in a new person who changes the way people think and feel about themselves and what they are doing. New values, new visions, new strategies and new policies toward customers and toward each other bring about rapid and often dramatic change.

How you can apply this law immediately: contact me and I will send you Mr. Tracy’s ebook containing more on the Law of Attraction and 100 Laws about which you should know.
