More Education!!

June 27, 2012

More education breeds  a better attitude. Here’s how: With more knowledge we see more possibilities. More possibilities means a better attitude. It’s not more complicated than that. Educating yourself makes you more valuable to your organization and your customers. What happens to people and things that are more valuable? That’s right, they are in demand.

Who Builds your Business

June 27, 2012

If you believe you are the one building your business you may want to rethink that a moment. Ask yourself this question: why would great people want to work in my company? When you are a great manager you can keep and train a great team. Send your team to 6 days of training per year. Why? So they become better people and better employees. YOU don’t build a business, your employees do.

Don’t Discount your Product or Service

June 23, 2012

Stop discounting your price. “Oh but Coach the competition… The economy…” When we discount we make our product a commodity. The most volatile financial market is the Commodity Exchange. You really want your product to be beaten around like pork bellies?

Instead, add value. Give away value. Discounting kills a business. And NO you aren’t on the scale of Walmart.

How can I increase my daily productivity?

June 22, 2012

A simple step that will help you focus, manage your time better, increase productivity:

At the end of each day write down the top 5 things you want to achieve tomorrow. This is not a “to do” list, it’s a “to achieve” list.

You will increase productivity because you thought through your priorities, your needs, your Goals! And your Goals will filter out the inconsequential stuff you don’t need to perform.

Keeping Motivated

June 13, 2012

How do I stay motivated. Especially in this economy.

That’s a common theme to the questions  I get. It’s on everyone’s mind. I’m not Peter Pan, but when this rolls across your mind it’s best to focus on the things you can control. Focus on what you want to achieve, your goals. Focusing on the negative is easy. Anyone can do that.

Making it to the level of success you seek requires YOU to be in charge of the motivation thing. So how do I do that coach?

Here’s how:

SET GOALS:  Here is some very basic guidance:

  • First you must dream! Dream of everything you want, and have always wanted in every facet of your life.
  • There are no limits. Ask yourself, “What would I attempt to do, if I knew I could not fail?”  “What would I want for my life if I knew I could have it?”
  • Allow yourself to dream like you did as a child. Let your imagination run wild!
  • Brainstorm. Talk to your family, your co-workers, your Mastermind group.
  • Write your ideas down on paper and decide which ones are the most important to you. Review what you have written down on paper.
  • Now it is time to define your dream precisely.  Which of these goals are most important to you, and why?
  • On a fresh piece of paper, write down one goal at a time. Beside the heading, write down a deadline for achieving that goal. Be sure that the deadline is realistic.
  • To help achieve the long term goal, set a timeline using short term goals. For example, if your long term personal goal is to lose 60 lbs. in one year, set short term goals leading up to the long term goal.  In this example you might set short term goal to lose 5 lbs. per month.  This is an effective way  to evaluating your progress helping you to determine if you have to make changes to your action plan.
  • Get started!

DETERMINATION & FOCUS get you over obstacles and help you find success.

When the WOW Factor happens!

June 5, 2012

The following is from a client. They have worked hard and are focused. And here are the results.

Ed,

Just wanted to send you a quick update before we meet this week.  After entering all the invoices for our customers and running the reports, May turned out to be our best month this year – so far.  I know we are going to continue on this trend and the rest of the year will be breaking records as well.

To recap – In January our sales were up 20.5%, February up 32.9%, March up 27%, April up 6% (we had a really good April last year) and  May we were up 38%!

Overall, our sales are up 22.4% for the year and we haven’t even hit our busy season.  We appreciate you keeping us focused and helping us set and reach our goals.  We are excited about the business again, not always about coming to work every day, but about the future and where we are headed.

——-WOW!!!
