There is a fraternity out there
It’s open…to those who have done it.
Closed to all others.
The dues? You can’t really calculate them
Some have been higher than others.
The initiation? Nothing for those who stepped up
they knew what the trials would bring.
The Creed? It’s something like this: Here is a blank check signed with my blood, my life
Cash it when you need it. I’ll be standing in the door.
When you meet a veteran of any conflict and of any length of service you can say thank you
or you can just be very thankful that someone like him was willing to have done it.
